Bayelsa United Football Club Matches
The football club has been involved in so many competitions during the past seasons since their creation. Most of the seasonal matches with other local football clubs in the country which gave them qualifications and made them win nice positions in the Nigeria National Premier League and Football Association Challenge Cup Competitions.
Bayelsa United has also played with How Mine FC of Zimbabwe on several occasions and one ended in their favour with a 2 – 1 score and the other which they lost to them with a 1- 2 score. They have always defeated Gombe United and El-Kanemi in the set of week 24 Glo Nigeria Premier League games played on Sundays in 2013 across the country.
Some of the records are as follows; the match of 2013/2014 season when they played with Heartland FC Owerri, Imo State and came out with a hard fought 2 – 1 win.
However, their 2015 matches took annoying series; such as the competition between them Enugu Rangers on the 15th of November 2015, which after all trials the game ended in favour of Enugu Rangers FC with a 3 – 1 score. This was just among the match failures recorded for Bayelsa United FC in 2015, and when the failure problem prolonged during that year, the club decided to fire their coach Solomon Ogbeide over the poor results of the year.
Presently, the team have worked in a well organized and active way towards 2018 Nigeria National League (NNL) with the sole aim of achieving a positive goal. During the course of preparations for this match, their head coach Richard Bubugha expressed optimism about his club pending on the friendly matches they have played so far.
